A Blog on Eskrima 1

My name is Ned Ra. Nepangue; and I am going to start my blog now---for all of you to read. I hope you’ll enjoy reading it and keep on coming back for more. I will try to make it entertaining as well. I shall try to limit my topic on the Filipino Martial Art (FMA)---arnis or eskrima in particular---and its related topics. Lately, I arrived with a realization that if misinformation about FMA proliferates in the Net, so why don’t I do something to neutralize it? Why don’t I start blogging on the other reality of the FMA, specifically arnis or eskrima?

I know there are many other topics to talk about; but FMA, arnis or eskrima, is the concern that triggers me to blog here. I know that it is not too late; and I know too that the net is here for that purpose---no matter how mundane it might be. The FMA is just a small part of the Filipino culture and is synonymous with arnis or eskrima; it is just one of the many expressions of the Filipino Martial Arts.

I cannot pretend to be an adept on FMA or any of the arnis or eskrima styles. I am not an expert; and I don’t know all. I am not a native speaker of English; and my grammar may sometimes be in trouble. Besides, I don’t think in English, but in Cebuano; and I write based on the way I think. Pardon my English; I promise everything here will be easily understood by you all. If I write here in my native language that is Cebuano, I cannot promise it will sound even better---since nobody nowadays can think, speak, and write in and undiluted Cebuano.
